Five is the perfect number for a lucky marriage!

18/12/2020

What is your relationship with black cats, broken mirrors, and salt on the ground? Do you fear the will of fate, or do you not believe in superstitions? Whether it's to conquer luck, or just for pure play, there are certain customs to observe during the ceremony for a lucky marriage.
So let's forget about animals, condiments, reflections for a moment and focus on some beliefs concerning the bride, on her wedding day.

Yes! Five is the perfect number for a lucky marriage!

Between tradition and superstition

Between (future) wife and (almost) husband, don't put your finger, it is customary to say. But there are things, on the other hand, that are recommended for the bride to put on, indeed, to wear. Five items, from different sources, to ensure a happy future.

An old thing

A self-respecting tradition implies that the woman, on her wedding day, carries something from the past. The significance of this custom lies in the importance of the previous years, in that one is the present person because of what one has experienced. Therefore, it is important to keep the good of past experiences, so that it will be of benefit to the path taken.

A new thing

For equal measure, it is advisable to bring along something new as well, as an emblem of the journey ahead and the commitment it implies. The goal is to fill yourself with positive vibes and nurture the right courage toward the challenges ahead.

One thing lent

As a bridge connecting the first two elements, an object lent, strictly, by a cherished affection is placed. The meaning of this gesture is to show that people to whom one is attached are never lost, even in the transition from the past to the future.

A given thing

Receiving a gift early can bring a smile to one's face, even more so if this present is delivered as a symbol of love from the people around us, to be worn on one of the best days of one's life.

A blue thing

Blue indicates purity and sincerity. And in keeping with tradition, the bride is wont to wear a garter dyed in shades of the ocean, to be concealed under wide voluminous skirts, perhaps semi-transparent.

And do you like to follow all traditions, or are you limited to salt and mirrors? Speaking of the latter, there is another superstition related to the fairer sex. Apparently, the bride-to-be cannot get lost in her reflection before the ceremony--and if she really cannot resist the temptation, she must do so by removing something from her body, such as a veil, gloves, or a shoe.

The question arises whether it is more challenging to choose the dress and details or to follow all the customs, without missing a single one. What remains certain is that planning a wedding is a colorful, fun--unique experience.
